Wanted: Nominations for the Edgewater Living Treasures Award

Vol. XXIII No. 3 - Fall 2012

The Edgewater Historical Society (EHS) is seeking nominees for its first Edgewater Living Treasures Award. EHS invites Edgewater residents to submit the name of someone who is deserving of the award by January 15, 2013. Nomination forms can be picked up at the Edgewater Historical Society or accessed on the EHS website. The Edgewater Living Treasures Award will honor those who have made significant contributions to the community by enhancing the quality of life of its citizens.

An Edgewater Living Treasure is someone who has shown leadership in community action and has helped neighbors to accomplish worthwhile goals. These are people we admire for their dedication to positive change, and their determination to have positive ideas turn into reality. Personal admirable attributes that the nominee may possess include: kindness, courage, wisdom, grace, authenticity, humor, humility, respectfulness and generosity.

Edgewater Living Treasures are residents or former residents of the Edgewater area. Persons of any age may be nominated but preference will be given to retired individuals because they have a fuller life experience. Couples and organizations may also be nominated. One or more recipients of the award will be named by the Edgewater Historical Society in 2013.

Winners of the award are at the sole discretion of the Edgewater Historical Society. The award is one of recognition and has no financial value. Awards will be made in person by the Edgewater Historical Society.
